Launch HN: Panora (YC S24) – Data Integration API for LLMs 7 by nael_ob | 0 comments on Hacker News. Hey HN! We're Nael and Rachid, and we're building Panora ( https://ift.tt/DM7eZKC ), an open-source API that connects various data sources to LLMs, from 3rd party integrations to embeddings and chunking generation. Here's a demo: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=45QaN8mzAfg , and you can check our docs here: https://ift.tt/ucGYUst Our GitHub repo is at https://ift.tt/DM7eZKC . Building integrations by hand is tedious and time-consuming. You must adapt to API documentation quirks, manage request retries, OAuth/API key authorization, refresh tokens, rate limits, and data sync freshness. Moreover, you have to keep up with the constant rise of embedding models and chunking capabilities. On the other hand, with the rise of AI-powered apps, you have to handle embedding and chunking of all the unstructured data. The dominant player in this space is Merge.dev, but it has several d

Show HN: Numscript, a declarative language to model financial transactions 28 by superzamp | 4 comments on Hacker News. Numscript is a simple, declarative language that helps you model financial transactions. You can do quite a few things with it, such as modeling: * Payments involving vouchers and a user's prepaid balance * Complex funds destination scenario where the customer gets cash back * Configurable user credit balance spending transactions The main idea is to take the pain out of describing of a system dealing with money movements should behave in traditional languages such as JS/TS/Go/Ruby etc, landing an expressive way to model these movements of value. It is voluntarily broad in applicability—our customers use it today for use-cases ranging from marketplaces funds orchestration to home-grown loan management systems. Once those transactions are modeled, they are to be picked up and committed to a system-of-record, ledgering system or executed on a set of payments and

New top story on Hacker News: Ask HN: What runs L4-related microkernels/hypervisors these days?

Ask HN: What runs L4-related microkernels/hypervisors these days? 19 by AlexWandell | 5 comments on Hacker News. I've been learning about the L4 microkernel, and am thinking about doing something related to it for a research project. I'm especially curious about more recent examples of specific devices that run L4 variants (seL4, PikeOS, OKL4, etc.). I already found a few that use seL4, but to take OKL4 as an example, most of the specific devices I could find are from more than a decade ago, and I'm trying to find things from at least the last 5 or 6 years. I'm even more curious to find devices that use a form of L4 as a hypervisor. Has anyone here worked on a device that used an L4-related kernel or hypervisor? I know one major area they're used in is defense and full of NDAs, but hopefully some of the other industries they're used in (medical devices, automotive, IoT) are a little less restrictive. Thanks in advance! September 16, 2024 at 10:26PM AlexWand

Compared to our macOS app, we've doubled down on making the screenshots look better by adding device mockups (i.e. iPhone, Macbook, Safari, etc.), more social media dimensions, and image positioning. Currently we're working on adding an option to share the image with a link (cloud storage and share). Would love to get your feedback on our beta! New top story on Hacker News: Show HN: Ask LLMs to predict anything based on news

Show HN: Ask LLMs to predict anything based on news 9 by artembugara | 2 comments on Hacker News. Hi HN! We partnered with the Atlas team to build a tool called AI Predict [0] that allows anyone to ask any question about the future and get a thoroughly researched, AI-generated prediction on how likely it is to be true. How it works: Atlas replicated a Berkeley paper [1] that showed LLMs could make predictions as accurate as the crowd. We’re using a mix of models from OpenAI and Anthropic, with information retrieval powered by NewsCatcher [2]. The system is live and fully functional, though it might struggle with hyper-local questions outside of the public domain (e.g., “Will I have chicken for dinner tonight?“). But we’re intentionally NOT stopping it from answering any question, so fire away! What makes it different: - Free to use: Anyone can ask any question about the future that they care about, whether it’s a broad societal trend or a specific personal decision. - Transparent: T

We are working on a package manager for Kubernetes to simplify the packaging of complex applications with multiple dependencies, ensuring they are installed and kept up-to-date across multiple Kubernetes clusters. Nowadays, it is best practice to use Git as a revision control system for your Kubernetes configurations. Update automation workflows like Renovate or Dependabot can create pull requests for new versions of Docker images and Helm charts, but ensuring these new package versions work is still a manual task. By using the central (or a private) Glasskube repository ( https://ift.tt/4hJq1S6 ) together with our Renovate integration ( https://ift.tt/kjWUYEt ), you can ensure that new package versions will run through our Minikube-based CI workflows before they get published—similar to how the Homebrew core t

Show HN: Graphiti – LLM-Powered Temporal Knowledge Graphs 8 by roseway4 | 0 comments on Hacker News. Hey HN! We're Paul, Preston, and Daniel from Zep. We've just open-sourced Graphiti, a Python library for building temporal Knowledge Graphs using LLMs. Graphiti helps you create and query graphs that evolve over time. Knowledge Graphs have been explored extensively for information retrieval. What makes Graphiti unique is its ability to build a knowledge graph while handling changing relationships and maintaining historical context. At Zep, we build a memory layer for LLM applications. Developers use Zep to recall relevant user information from past conversations without including the entire chat history in a prompt. Accurate context is crucial for LLM applications. If an AI agent doesn't remember that you've changed jobs or confuses the chronology of events, its responses can be jarring or irrelevant, or worse, inaccurate. Before Graphiti, our approach to storing and
